Charlotte Players Kids Onstage is a youth theatre experience in Port Charlotte that introduces students to singing, dancing, acting, technical theatre, and the teamwork behind a full production. The program has operated as an intensive summer workshop for students in grades one through twelve, bringing different ages together around a shared performance goal.
For children, theatre can strengthen communication, creativity, memory, confidence, and collaboration. Performers learn lines, music, movement, and stage direction, while technical theatre introduces the important work that happens behind the scenes. Preparing a production also teaches responsibility, patience, and how individual contributions support an entire cast and crew.
The biggest advantage is the complete theatre experience rather than a single acting lesson. Students can discover both performance and production roles while making friends and working toward a family audience presentation. Parents searching for summer theatre programs for kids in Charlotte County should confirm the current year’s dates and eligibility before registering. Workshop length, grade range, tuition, audition or enrollment procedures, attendance expectations, and production details may change each season.
